Fitness Sessions

This is a fantastic opportunity, working alongside our experienced instructors and fitness guide you will be able to track your improvement over a number months. Activities will include a general health check from one of our Occupational health professionals, a variety of fun and interactive team building exercises, simulations of role related duties and circuit training.

 

Station Visit

Visit one of our state of the art Community Fire Stations to get a greater insight into the day to day activities of an operational Fire Station. This will give you a chance to see what it is like to work on a Fire Station. You will have the opportunity to take a tour of the Fire Station and hear from Operational Firefighters and gain a different perspective on this rewarding career. 

 

Workshops

Diversity & Equality

The Fire and Rescue Services of the North East are committed throughout the workplace to diversity and equality and this topic is a key element throughout the whole Firefighter Recruitment process. This workshop is specifically tailored to highlight these issues, provide information in an interactive format and ensure you have the necessary knowledge to benefit your future application.

 

Application / Written Stage

You will have the opportunity during this interactive workshop to learn some useful hints and tips for completing an application form, in addition to completing a simulation of a written test. We will have assistance on hand from Learn Direct for any candidates wishing to improve their literacy and numeracy. The workshop will also look closely at the Personal Qualities and Attributes, featured throughout the process.

Interview Stage

This session will serve to highlight some good and bad examples of interview responses, look in more details at the PQA interview and give you the opportunity to take part in interview role play, providing hints and tips on how you can improve your interview style.

Review Session

This final workshop will review the content covered in previous sessions, providing candidates with one to one feedback on their development, in addition to the opportunity to re-visit some of the recruitment stages.
