Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005

Information for the guidance of applicants registering premises under the above regulations to store explosives.

 

It is a requirement that anyone wishing to keep explosives shall register their name, trade and premises with the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.

 

The registration is for one year on the payment of the statutory fee and becomes renewable on 1st July (Air Bags) and 1st October (Fireworks) each year.

 

If this is your first application to keep explosives you should fill out the application (link below) in full.  If you were registered/licensed with this Authority last year a renewal will automatically be forwarded to you.

 

If there has been a lapse in your yearly registration/license, you should complete a full application and this will be processed as a new application.

 

The following fees are applicable for 2009/2010

 

  • New License Application - £178

  • Renewal of License - £83

  • New registration - £105

  • Renewal of registration - £52

  • Variation, transfer or replacement of a license or registration £35

All forms together with fees should be returned to the address below and cheques should be made payable to 'Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Authority'.
