The Authority is committed to mainstreaming Diversity and Equality.
As a public sector organisation we are required to comply with the Race, Disability and Gender Equality Duties. These Duties require all public services to consult with employees and stakeholders, to promote equality and eliminate discrimination. We do this by conducting Equality Impact Assessments (EIA’s) which involves screening all our policies and procedures for anything that may discriminate against any group or groups of people on the basis of all protected characteristics as identified in the Equality Act 2010.
Please find attached our current versions of relevant documents below.
A full review of the EIA process within Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service is currently being undertaken and therefore this section will be updated accordingly.
If you have any queries regarding Equality Impact Assessments or any other Diversity and Equality related queries please contact the Diversity and Equality Advisor Rachel Beadle on 0191 4441626 or on the TWFRS contact form.
